We started Friday night, July 23, 2004, filming at Pelham World Gym. From 5 PM to 5 AM the next morning, we filmed there. Then there was no sleep, we headed straight for IHOP for some breakfast, then we filmed Saturday July 24 at Safari Cup Coffee in downtown Birmingham. Then we were at the Park Lane restaurant in Birmingham at 5 am on Sunday morning, July 25, for an incredibly long day full of long and complicated setups, finally finishing shooting at 2:30 in the morning as Monday greeted us. It was our busiest weekend of the entire shoot, and some of the last big shooting days, as principal photography wound down after this. Park Lane also contained the filming of the very first sequence that writers Laura Mullins and Jason Kendall had envisioned when first developing the story for the film, so it was indeed a very special day, one which Laura lovingly recounts in this behind the scenes look at that weekend.
