  • I like the way that the lights under the floor flash as it's passing.

And why do they show the 13th floor?

  • @Vanool35 Because the 13th floor superstition really only caught on in North America. In China, they oftentimes to skip the 4th floor although not a frequently as Americans skip the 13th floor.

  • What is on B1-2?

  • B2 is an entrance to a car park. B1 - dunno.

Anyway, I have take same of video on last saturday at Kwong Fai Mansion, Mong Kok of reference : v=gs6nRD_t5Y0.

remarks: this elevator have bears the sign "COMPUTER CONTROL".

  • @bearchoirfan

I first saw this unique interior floor indicator design since in 2006 at Universal Commercial House, North Point, HK. The interior floor indicator design was same of video.

Two years after ago, I saw the interior floor indicator design again, at Tung Cheong Commercial Building, Jordon, HK. There have bears the sign "COMPUTER CONTROL". But the maintenance work of the elevator has been contracted out to a small repairs firm Jekco.

  • @musicfreakcc Although, the King Solomon Hotel in Jerusalem (Israel) doesn't have a 13.

  • I stayed here on a school trip. The elevators kept closing too early and crushing us.

  • Good memories! I stayed here last year on a School Trip, stayed for 4 Hours as we took the Planes back home and we left on the Coached at 2am...

  • cool 13th floor

  • I didn't know Hitachi made elevators! I remember their stereo systems.

  • B1 is also a car park if I'm not mistaken. That's a 13 storey hotel.

  • Well, Mitsubishi goes from Real Estate to Cars to Elevators to Electronics.

  • Lol I am going to buy my Hitachi TV, my hitachi Elevator....it just seems so random!

  • I first saw this unique interior floor indicator design in a hotel in Zhuhai, Guangdong, New China. It dates back to the early 1980s and bears the sign "COMPUTER CONTROL". It was very, very long ago.

Until some years ago, I came across this floor indicator again back in Hong Kong, at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This time it was on a Toshiba.

So, this design is probably specific of Japanese elevator products, and probably a few Korean ones utilizing Japanese technology.

  • the fixtures on the outside look like old otis.. i was in a hitachi elevator in hawaii and my TV is a hitachi as well :-)

  • I really like the hall fixtures, apart from the fact that the bells only ring once, despite direction of travel. I really like how they flash on and off. I have only seen one elevator do that in America.

  • That one was in China.

  • elevator the usa?
