  • I seriously hate GXSCC. It's one of the worst programs I've seen. I really dislike most of the so-called 8-bit remixes made with it. (There are a very small number of decent remixes made with it, but those are from people who know how to actually use it.)

  • @cat333pokemon I agree with you 100%

  • People think the Gameboy Advance/Sega Genesis sounds bad but I think GXSCC sound even worse with the same annoying drum sound every time.

  • It's not quite true to say that GXSCC doesn't make 8-bit music, it does, just... it was designed to do so in the style of the MSX, an 8 bit home computer that sounded nothing like the NES. So it's not exactly GXSCC's fault - it's more the fault of people who totally misuse the tool and call their creations "NES style". It definitely shouldn't be used for that purpose, and the amount of crap "NES style remixes" clogging up YouTube is sad indeed.

  • GXSCC Stands for Gay EXPERT Sound Crappy Converter.

  • @Wkterr right. It is 8-bit, but it's not NES 8-bit. It's MSX 8-bit.

  • NEED A DISPENSER HERE

  • I have nothing against GXSCC itself, but dragging a midi into it and saying it's 8 bit is just silly.

  • I totally agree that GXSCC should not be used. However, technically speaking, it IS 8-bit, however, it is not NES 8-bit. The American NES supports only 5 sound channels, but GXSCC makes 8-bit output for an old Japanese home computer which has MUCH more channels, and not NES. I also dislike that people write "My 8-bit version of X" when all they did was to convert a MIDI. If you didn't make it, then it's not your version. FamiTracker is a very nice program for creating true NES 8-bit!

  • This should be required viewing for every person on Youtube.
