Children and the internet

In June 2007 we published qualitative research which explored how the lack of home internet access affects children. It compares children from disadvantaged backgrounds who have no internet access at home with similar children who do have access. The focus of the project was on non-education use of the internet, and whether the lack of home internet access further disadvantages already disadvantaged children. The Panel hosted a workshop on children and the internet on 28 June 2007, bringing together key representatives from government, think-tanks, the third-sector and industry who work in this area and coincided with publication of our research study.
