cocos2d for iPhone, an open source 2d engine

The animation looks jerky and has tearing.... Is this due to fraps (or whatever recording they did), or is the cocos2d engine just slow?

Brilliant, I was literally just thinking about working on this exact project myself. Cocoa isn't particularly suited for making a sprite-blitting engine (though I did manage to get something running with UIImageView), so I figured I had to make my own OpenGL ES wrapper.
(thanks for doing that)

Dude you had some seriously sick music in the intro! :)

@FrankRizzo6662 i don't notice any tearing on 3gs and ipad2, so i think it's the recording

great but i feel the colors are desaturated and the bitmaps quality are less
but the physics is cooool.
good luck

great~!

@FrankRizzo6662 It's just the capture. Though, since this was run on way better hardware than the iPhone, you see such high FPS. On a 3GS, the physics samples struggle to run above 10fps with a debug build, not sure about release though.

That's just the person who made the animation. They didn't have many frames in the animation.

I love it!

great, I was planning on making a sprite-heavy game myself and your library gave me is saving so much trouble.
thank you!
Great, i'll definitely try your library. Do you have plan to attend any kind of conference or convention btw?

Not for the moment.
What iPhone (or mobile games) conferences do you recommend ?
