I'm not afraid of dying of old age or disease
Or in some tragic accident that I could not foresee
I'm not afraid that death might mean my life would be cut short
But I am afraid of dying with hatred in my heart.

So let me make peace with all that I've come to resent
And remember that everyone I meet is heaven sent
Hate's the poison that we drink when we sit down at anger's feast
Let me get up from that table, let me make peace

I'm not afraid of dying in mighty hurricane
Or to leave before my purpose on this earth has been made plain
Im not afraid that Ill outlive my family and all my friends
But I am afraid of dying before I make amends

I'm not afraid of dying before all the world's at peace
Though my anger at injustice will always need release
