So the argument goes. But examine Britain in 1948: nearly bankrupt, but NHS anyway. They did it.

Very well done! I plan on leaving america in the next few years. Fuck those student loans! Suckers! I've been taking them out to take vacations and plan on burning my passport as soon as I finally make it to canada! who-hoo!

in quebec province, canada (part 2)... the pills are covered by the province or private insurance, $600 per year...
the tricky part is getting service.
it is time-consuming but it works great. it's just like you feel all alone. most people are not fit to ask the system to get fixed properly. they always go for the easy pill or for the 1day visit... but every step is slow or misguiding. a person has to fight the system to get the best service, instead of the 1visit + pills and go home.

in quebec province, canada, the issue is that you have to ask for a service yourself, and most lasy people don't... but it's free. emergency operations are done as fast as possible, but non-urgent operations have waiting lists meaning you wait for few months. you can see a doctor in 1 day for feeling sick, or work-related injury. you have to be put on a list for few months if it's for a request of fixing a broken knee (major operation), or removing a part of stomach...

It is not really fair to even call it "socialized medicine", because countries like France or Germany have subsidized not-for-profit insurance plans that covers the care given from providers who are self-employed. Countries like Canada that has "medicare for all" is a government insurance plan like we have US medicare for the elderly.. still that system is not considered "socialized medicine", I guess I object to the use of the term because it generates misunderstanding and unsympathetic feeling

Socialism works...just not with humans.

i love ur vid, and i agree with Socialized Medicine!

A nice well rounded arguement... lets face it, no system is perfect. As a Brit, yes I prefer my system over the US but the quality of care in the US is better... but you're paying for it. My ex wife worked as an EMS & over here in A&E as a nurse & she said our system was good

The case against "Socialized Medicine" where the government has complete control of health care. Is if you take away competition, you take away incentive to improve and innovate. Because government would be the only service.
-
Actually they do pay for they're health care in premiums that come of of they're paychecks or high taxes. There's no such thing as free health care if you pay taxes.
-
this is why your an idiot you say that the taxes will just replace the 300 that your already paying. so the 40 million americans now have equal coverage you think that the 300 you paying a month is alot? just wait until this bill takes affect then you'll see how moranic you liberals are. if you buy into the sicko propaganda and everything obama says than your a fool.
$30,000 for a broken arm????
The charge for my broken arm in Australia was only $700 total, and it was completely covered by medicare. (I didn't even need to draw on my private health insurance)

I am not sure what her total bills were, but she broke her elbow and had to have surgery and still has the pins and scars. The figure is probably closer to $10,000. I said, "$5K - 30K" She was suppose to go to rehabilitation too so she could use her arm again. She couldn't afford it and no one would see her, because of her debt for the surgery. This was over 10 years ago and she can't touch her left side of her face with her left hand, put on a necklace, etc.

I am not from US, but I am surprised about how people are against socialized medicine. The best systems with greater results are socialized, just like Europe. You dont pay anything, its another service like the firefighters or police. If you want, you can get a private service too.

100% agree with you. I don't get it either and I live in the US.

The fact that there are a lot of people that fall for what the for profit insurance companies are advertising for without thinking twice or researching other avenues is sad..

I delete comments, because I can. : )
I am in a state of peace on this issue and am keeping it positive.
