  • Most of these meters are in fast tempos so you would be killing yourself to conduct each beat. That is why 3/8 is usually in 1, 6/8 in 2, 9/8 in 3, and 12/8 in 4. It gives each of them a triplet feel and makes it easier for the conductor.

  • When you were showing us the 12/8... Did you show us 2 ways of doing it or the first one was a mistake?

  • Conduct 12/8 the same as 4/4...its easier.

  • I disagree with her 6/8 completely. If I was watching her and her hands came up I would mistake it for the last beat.
