Due to the economic crisis and collapse that we are facing in america, many people are considering making a move to a rural area and starting a country way of life. But before you do that, there are some things that you should consider. Living in the country is not as easy as it seems and it can be a great deal of hard work. Many city people experience culture shock when the up and move to the country. So here are some things that you need to think about before making the move and becoming a certified country hick. :o)

How sweet of you to post this video! You are absolutely right and it is a positive video. Years ago, the farmer was the nicest person you'd ever meet! My grandfather owned a dairy (delivered door to door); and when people couldn't pay their bill; he'd say, "It's time to butcher a cow!" He'd go to the homes that owed him money and hand out beef. (for free) When he retired at 55 years old, he washed away all debts to him and gave his dairy to his children. THAT'S COUNTRY!

Yeah, never forget your wallet at home when you are at a store. Too far to drive home in the boonies to get it. Expect 12 hour days to work that garden, milk those goats, plus housework, fixing things, building/repair fences, tractors, gates, etc. Sun up till sun down, no matter if you work a job off the land or work on your own place. Be ready to be tired. Want to sit on a swing sipping iced tea? Buy a condo with a nice patio and grow food in containers and rabbits in the back yard for meat

I've never had a gamey tasting deer.
Kill it, drain it, cook it, eat it.
I hate city folk complaining of the country smells. It smells good to me.

LOL, dont laugh. I think that it's going to come to that before too long. And I am not a big fan of deer meat. But if my belly is growling........... :o)
Deer meat can be good if it is processed immediately and correctly. Then ya gotta cook it right.
Being an animal lover, I might feel bad about killing a deer in the garden. Kinda takes the fairness of the hunt out of it. But as you said...if we are starving.......
