Superintendent William Andrekopoulos told the School Board's Strategic Planning and Budget Committee this week why the district is seriously considering dropping the SAGE program in nine schools.

MPS Budget Manager Deb Wegner told the committee that the state was not keeping its commitment to fund SAGE at $2,250 per pupil. For FY11, the district is projecting a $15.9 million shortfall for the program, she said.
