@Mr400Babies Not long ago a young woman (I think she was 19) who was mourning the death of her husband had 2 intruders break in to her house from both entrances. She was alone aside from her infant. She called 911 and hid in the bedroom with a shotgun and pistol. She did NOT use lethal force until she had no other choice. One dead, the other escaped. In an interveiw she said she was going to do what was nessecary to protect her baby. Maybe she should have let the intruders have their way?

Do firearm manufactuers (in your case Colt) have anything to say for or against the use of this kind of product in a pistol? By the way Ive been living in TN for a year now, if you bag one of thoes mean Square Foam Snakes, they make for great insulation around your window mounted air conditioning.

@Mr400babies Also, I don't consider myself likely to ever be in such a situation. But I would rather be prepared and have an extra option available (which I hope to NEVER use) than be out of options with my life on the line. I understand your point, and "lethality and effect on target" is a gray area that is difficult for many to understand. Sometimes 1 round that does enough damage to stop them quickly gives a better chance of survival than many separate wounds that kill later.

@Mr400babies To be fair - I and most others I know who are willing to use a gun in self defense would not shoot unless imminently threatened - therefore, if they were to use it, it would be literally life or death for them. If it was my life or the assailant in front of me, I'm going to make sure it's him. Prompt incapacitation is the goal (I did not say kill - deadly force is used to stop quickly, not rack up a body count). Hope that helps you make sense of it, no offense meant.

@ToreDL87 count me in on that as well. Though if I do find a need for pistol shot-shell, 45ACP in the 1911 is a winner. tn9 has more videos in glocks if anyone hasn't seen them and they seem to have more issues.

@tincan77 You got the right idea.

How likely are you to be in a situation where you need to blow a hole through a person to defend yourself? Does that question occur to any american? If someone attacked you or broke into your house and you hit them with a few shotshells I think they would probably leave you alone if they survived. Then at least you wouldn't have a load of innards and brain matter to clean up or a body to dispose of. Why are you guys so fixated on the use of deadly force?
If I heard correctly you had no problems with snake shot and your Glock 30? Does the pellets do any damage to the rifling or barrel?

@CABruce80
No problem in the G30 or the 1911. Just clean your firearm thoroughly, as these shotshell loads are "smokier" than standard cartridges.

Is it easy to reload those shotshells? Like, if I was to load them with skittles...

@kekeke01
Non-reloadable for anything, but I do like the skittles idea.

was that a metal target? thats a bit of risky business there... or was it paper....?
startwarskidfan2 7 months ago
@startwarskidfan2
Yes it was metal and no it wasn't a risk due to the low power nature of this cartridge and the projectile, shot pattern, etc.. I would not have done this at 5 feet. There is a safe distance threshold using my targets that varies from caliber/load to another. I have shot enough to determine what that is for each.
