All of us here at Touch and Go are very pleased about the ongoing web series of mini-videos about our 25th anniversary birthday bash held last September at the Hideout here in Chicago. Now, for all of you who couldn't make the trek, here's a way (other than all those blurry youtube videos) to check out Big Black's stellar set, David Yow in all his writhing glory, or any of the 29 other bands that rocked thousands of socks off in one glorious weekend.

The series kicked off in January with an overview of the block party and how it came to happen. Now, every single week, we're posting band-specific clips from every set of the weekend. In the weeks and months to come, check back every Monday for a new video from a different act blending live performance and interview footage in commemoration of 25 years of Touch and Go. Trust us - it's worth it.

  • John Brannon has the greatest voice. It's sounds like there's razor blades in his throat.

  • How come Necros didn't play this show?

  • love this! these guys still rock!

  • @mightyhighrocks : Because they all got killed in a car crash the week before.

  • Wow, this was excellent. It's amazing that Negative Approach is still able to play with the same ferocious intensity 25 years later.

  • That's what I figured. Ron was also in the Laughing Hyenas.

  • Because Corey Rusk (original bassist/main man at T&G who owns the master's of everything recorded through 1983) and Barry Hensler (vocals) haven't been friends for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. Though, Ron Sakowski, the guy playing bass here for NA, is the guy who replaced Rusk in The Necros in '83. My guess is that even if it had been broached (I don't know one way or the other) with post-Rusk line-ups on stage that Corey would have immediately said "no."

  • John Brannon has the best voice in rock n roll. Raw power.

  • you were great in i think 82 in the Cass Corridor, i was never really a part of that scene but i dug being on the fringes anyhow .. wow

  • i want show to negative in colombia - medellin is the best band of punkhxc

  • "Don't make me do what I wanna do" :D:D:D
