My Video Setup: Canon 60D + Zoom H1 = Win.

You guys ask all the time what setup I use to make my YouTube videos so I decided to make a behind the scenes look at my setup. I'm using a Canon 60D DSLR Camera with the stock 18-135mm Kit lens and additionally I use a 50mm 1.4 lens for tight close up product shots. On the audio side, I'm using a Zoom H1 portable recorder and I sync up post production in Final Cut Pro 7 which I show you guys how to do in the video :)

  • Thanks for going to the trouble of making a video for us--very well done, and very helpful.

  • what tripod

  • you mean with the 50 you get a Tiny depth of field not huge!, the larger the aperture(lower number) the smaller depth of field you will get.

  • Why don't you use the Yeti?

  • @CinemotionNZ Yeah i know, it's just that i remember back in film school, i used a Nagra tape recorder that had to be sync with the film camera at 24 fps. Thanx.

  • The Canon 50mm 1.4 is a PoS with respect to what you get, but the DoF is awesome. It's AF-C fails on burst mode shooting, and the spoke is plastic that drives the AF is bogus. You set the lens down with cap DOWN, it will most likely break the lens - or rather the spoke on the inside. The good thing is that I replaced mine twice under warranty for stupidity in build for one, but also the exact issue I just stated. But then again... oooo bokeh. mmmm.

  • @Aleromero77 Sound recorders don't shoot in FPS buddy. But an H1 will sync with anything from a 24FPS video to a 60FPS video.

  • Greetings from Colombia. Can you use that audio recorder when you shoot video at 24pfs? Can the Zoom H1 record audio at 24pfs? thanx a lot. Great channel mate.

  • What kinda stand you have for your zoom h1?

  • best (:
