Punish criminals, not gun owners. The people of Britain should practice civil disobedience, re-arm themselves, and shoot every burglar they have the opportunity to. That would put quick brakes on the crime problem. Those burglars had been arrested previously repeatedly - 50 times, 30 times. Why were they not in jail?

Additionally, I don't get why this program appears to glorify the burglars as if they were the victims. It beggars belief, since Martin is the victim.

My first gut reaction was that I would not have shot blindly at noises. But then I thought you have to put yourself in his place. He's alone at night in an isolated place and has had trouble with people who don't belong there before. So I can't say I wouldn't have done the same. And as far as I am concerned people have a right to defend themselves and their home from intruders.
