This is my idea to improve the cinematic dialogs in Guild Wars 2. You can see the original here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjVu961oiKY
I think the dialog can be improved by doing it the same way as in movies: close-up of talking person. I also think the subtitles should be at the bottom, this way the characters can stand closer to each other.

  • To consider it "improved" it must be better than the original, if you can't see the fantastic concept art in the background you are loosing the perspective of the dialogue, sorry, it's not improved at all.

  • @RealGeobardi

I don't think the background is that fantastic. You don't have to see the concept background all the time anyway. Many consider the dialogs in SWTOR to be better because they switch focus to the talking person.

  • @fumanchu168 The stupid is you if you cannot understand that i said that camera angles don't improve the way of cinematics are showed in GW2. I didn't say anything about editing nothing.

  • @RealGeobardi that's just a camera concept sample, what the hell are you talking about editing the whole thing professionally to keep the artwork in? jesus you stupid or something?

  • I really like this panning work! The new animations can be seen more clearly and it gives things a more cinematic feel rather than having two static figures standing there IMO.

The background is not that important, it's the characters in the foreground who should be getting the attention and I think this panning work does just that.

I liked how your pan still got the priestess' smile. The panning actually brought attention to her because the eye is drawn to her as she enters the scene.

  • It's supposed to be dialogue, not a cut scene. I think it's better the original way.
