This is a video I put together from some clips of City College of San Francisco's walkout to protest the budget cuts. I'm a staff worker at CCSF, represented by SEIU 1021, and a member of the General Assembly which is comprised of students, faculty, and staff who want to fight the cuts.
This is my own interpretation of events and does not necessarily represent the General Assembly's official stance.
Here's a march that went around campus and delivered the GA's demands to an unresponsive administration. The demands are:
1. Restore all classes that are being cut. Restore summer.
2. No layoffs.
3. Eliminate student fees/tuition.
4. Restore all funding to student services.
5. Address all students, staff, and faculty on the budget at a public forum before the end of the semester.
6. Endorse, fund, and build a CCSF town hall meeting against the budget cuts in late January to be organized by the General Assembly.
7. Endorse the statewide call for strikes and actions in educational institutions on March 4 and endorse a CCSF strike and on-campus action on the same day.
