I remember watching this (Atlantic Records Anniversary Special - can't remember the year) and wondering why Laura lip sync'd the first couple of minutes. I've heard Laura sound much better, but she looked great and what a thrill to see her perform for soooooooooooooooo many people. Thanks for posting - I love finding little nuggets such as this:-)

This is a great version, but if you listen to the song closely, she was lip syncing the song for the first minute 27 seconds of the song.

Then she started to see the song. This is the first time i'v seen an artist do this.

Thats very tricky to do this, cause the guy playing the song from a CD has to stop the song correctly to do this.

She has an incredibly strong voice. When I started listening to this particular clip, I was questioning whether it was lip-synched because the performance seemed to sound exactly like the studio version. But a minute and half into the song, she started to sing it just a little differently than the studio version, which I was glad to here so that I knew that it was truly live.

This isnt the best example of her awesome singing ability, but it is still very good though. Singers today do not sing with this type of passion anymore, its very stale nowadays. Her voice is very powerful and passionate on her albums, absolutely awesome!
