Beautiful metaphor. My favourite song off 'The Road To Hell' album.....you can have it all and still be lonely, bored and empty, or you can dream of 'Coke' and burgers as you chase the dream; ultimately this system destroys us no matter where we sit on the food chain.

you all are crazy with these negative comments! I posted ages ago on here saying this really isn't a song about Texas! Texas is a metaphor more for about getting to that place that maybe is your sanctuary or "american dream". I live in Austin and believe me, it's just as commercial and losing itself as any other big city/state. All you Texans chill out with these "TX is god's country", etc. A great place is a great place and NO ONE has the upperhand on anyone else. Chill, relax. enjoy the song.
