There are many very heroic people, doing many different missions around the world, but Daphne Sheldrick's whole life's work --- even when her husband was still alive and was the director/warden of the Kenya Tsavo National Park --- has been devoted to saving elephants, particularly babies, & the educating of humans, to understand & to protect these evolutionarily majestic creatures... she is truly an extaordinary & rare human being.
