Stephen Rennicks - Flux

'Flux' (2009) sound piece with video by the artist Stephen Rennicks. An exercise I did about the changing economic forecast of Ireland. I've always been very interested in the seeming randomness of numbers and chaos theory. Chaos theory itself actually came from the study of weather statistics and trying to look for patterns in it. For this piece I see these randomly generated numbers from our weather stations rather like data from a stock exchange, only its weather effects people in economic and social ways. Nothing ever stays the same. Coastal report and images are from 9th March 2009.
