@neozes Couldn't be further from the truth. Gradient meshes allow you as much realism as you can possibly imagine. It just takes a thorough understanding of light and perspective. Along with a decent amount of patience. Look it up.
You dont use Illustrator to create realistic stuff. You use it to create simplified graphics you can use on different surfaces and in different sizes, without loosing quality.
@Marpoppenden "screen" blend mode didnt work for me either....I'll work on it more
