  • TNT is WOW, the friends I made the accomplishments I did and especially the donations for a cure for cancer, what an amazing ride!!!! I am hooked!!! Kathye

  • @wctennisnyc And just to be extra clear, all the coaches are volunteers. They do NOT get paid for their time, and a surprising percentage of them are cancer survivors themselves. Also, any extra money raised goes 100% to cancer research, so if you raise above your required minimum, 100% of the proceeds go to LLS.

  • @wctennisnyc You can donate your own money, but most get friends, family, coworkers, etc. to donate. Each race has a different amount because of various factors like hotel, travel to the race site, etc. I'll use my experience as an example. I live in Atlanta but I competed in the Nation's Triathlon in Washington, D.C. Each member of our team had to raise a minimum of $3500, which 72% went to cancer research. The other 28% paid for the logistics of transportation & hotel for the weekend.

  • @smiley7613 by sponsor dollars you mean you pay or donate your own money or you try to get them thru donations from other people or businesses? how much do you have to donate to do a race?

  • @Sneakyakadaniel Think of it like the car washes or similar things you might have done as a kid to raise money for an organization -- baseball team, church group, etc. This is just a large-scale fundraising event. People who are into running, cycling, triathlons, etc. exchange their training and competition for sponsor dollars to go toward cancer research. The hours they put into training per week basically add up to a part time job, except the "payment" goes to cancer research. Does that help?

  • I dont see what any of this training has to do with the cancer...

  • I know some of these people!!!

  • I like the new video, but where is the Hike team? They are an important part of TNT too.

  • I agree!! Rome 2011 will be my 4th event with TNT and my first full marathon!!

  • Team in Training is truly a life-changing experience, I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone. GO TEAM!
