This is the result of my connect 4 project. It took me about a month to get it there, but now it´s finally finished. The Robot is complete from LEGO, just the aktually game is not. And it`s programmed in NCX. The robot uses 3 motors, a touchsensor, a lightsensor and a lowspeed-ultrasonicsensor. 1 motor for movement of the whole robot, 1 for the movement of the lightsensor and 1 to put chips in the game. the touchsensor helps the robot to get in the right position to start. the lightsensor "scans" the game and is searching for the opponents chip. the ultrasonicsensor tells the robot when if i put a chip in the game. the robot is not connected to a pc or something else. The KI should work on the idea of the minimax algorithmus, but the speed of the NXT is bordered . So he doesn`t play really good. However watch the video, have fun!! comments are welcome!

  • Hey Man i absolutely need your help... do you know how these "corrugated" long bricks are called....(so those, which fit with these wheels to move the sensor right and left) i don't have them in my basic NXT-Set and it's hard to do something like that witihout them. Thank you

  • @schmarre777 hm i dont know how they are called, but i got them from old lego technic kits... im sure you can order them. but you can also build similar mechanics without those ;) be creative

  • I'd love to see the source code....?

  • hey, i programmed this a year ago and with kind of low-skill, you know. So the programm is long and hasn´t got a proper structure. But it´s surely possible, that you can see it. send me your email adress in a pm and iíll send you the prog, okay?

  • Holy crap. That's awesome!! I love lego almost as much as I love Connect 4 ;-) I used to always build lego robots using some stepper motors controlled from an old 386's serial port with programming done in GW Basic programming. I wish I'd thought to do something this cool. Good job.

  • Not the smartest robot, but at least it won.

  • WE WANT A ROBOT THAT DOES OUR HOMEWORK!

  • @schmarre777 thanks :) good luck with your project!

  • If a video is great, it doesn't matter which quality it has! Great!

  • cooooooool

  • Well done. Using complicated machines to achieve inane tasks. That my friend, is the true purpose of robotics.
