  • How do you know that the Father was not in the Son on the cross? How do you take 2 Cor 5:18-19? Do you think Isaiah 53 says it? Do you think Matthew 27:46 says this? How do you conclude and are 100% sure that the Father was not in the Son on the cross? How?

  • There are just as many pastors that are for this book as there are against it. But let me guess, you only know the ones that are 100% right about everything? And what do you think be reconciled to God means? I would say that is the definition of IN Christ! You canno be in relationship wit God and not be IN Christ. Look we are agruing for the same thing, you just don't like the way Paul Young puts it. But he wil be standing with you in heaven praising the Father for eternity!

  • Actually I did. I said that there are 500 views of what a christian is, even between baptists and non-denominational churchs. Paul meant that He came to bring them into relationship with Him, not make them what we or others define as a christian. That makes sense. At no point did he say that someone can accept Jesus and continue to be a Muslim, or a Buddhist. But Jesus can reach out to the Muslim and bring them into relationship with Him, which means believing in Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

  • The Shack at no point in time ever has declared that all religions can just add Jesus and be fine. All he ever said was that Jesus would meet people where they are at, even in the midst of their religion. He never says they can stay there, but then they must enter into a relationship with the Trinity, which would mean believing in Jesus as the only way to the Father. Paul absolutely believes this and nothing else. Nor does the Shack teach anything different.

  • I don't even know what Emergent means. I attend a Calvary Chapel church in Nashville, TN. Been going there for 8 years.

Nor does Paul say that you don't have to believe in Jesus to enter the Kingdom. Everyone has just assumed that is what he is saying. In fact, I have seen interviews where he declares that you must believe in Jesus and repent and be changed, and he has renounced any form of universalism. Have you ever been hurt..like serious hurt in life? Emotionally?

  • Easily - at no point in the book does Paul say that people can continue being a Buddhist and still have a relationship with the Father. He only says that people come from being a Buddhist, Muslim, or even a Baptist, which are all religions. This is a true statement by him. Paul absolutely believes that once God has reached out to the muslim and they believe in the name of Jesus, they must be changed and have relationship with the Trinity as God's Word says. He has never disagreed with this fact!

  • Doesn't the Father draw us in? Wasnt Jesus talking to the women at the well? Cannot God met a muslim in his dreams to reveal that Jesus is the Saviour? I would say that is the Him coming to where we are, because nobody choses God on their own.God does meet us where we are to reconcile us back to Him.He's using a metaphor for God working in our lives. We can come from any religion, but once we are drawn in and believe in Jesus,we are now in relationship with the Father and reconciled back to Him.

  • His point in the book is that God can travel any road to reconcile a person back to Him. It says it clearly in the book. To reconcile is to come into relationship, which changes a person to be Christ like. They become saved, a christian, the Bride of Christ, if you will. And yes, Jesus is the only way to the Father, and the Shack agrees with you on this.

  • You have absolutely missed every point that the book was making. It is amazing how you can tear apart so quickly and not even think "Is God doing something here?" Is there a slight chance that God is so big that H can deal with different people in different ways? Cannot Jesus travel any road to meet a person to reconcile with Him? Do you have all the answers? Do you know every heart on the earth? Can you know God and His desires? Realize how big God is before you speak.
