In this video, I am going to show you how to make ribbons to embed in PR casting molds. This first video shows preparation and the actual pours. The next in the series will show how to even out the pour, cutting the ribbons and placing them into the molds. Standby for future updates.

  • @Croymedic The way PR works is where there is less (in this case very thin) you need more hardener for it to create the proper heating effect. The more you have the less hardner you technically need. That is why he uses 4 drops per ounce on his molds (they are think) compared to 15 for the ribbons

  • Ok you are using only 4 drops per ounce for your blanks, but a lot more for ribbons. What does the less hardener due for the full blanks? I've been using 15 drops per ounce for my blanks and getting mixed results. Seems like my solid PR blanks are doing ok.... but anything I try to embed doesnt do well at all. AND, would using a pressure / vacuum pot help any when you are using the 4 drops per ounce?

  • FANTASTIC!!!! Thank you very much, from a pen maker.

  • i hate people like you, like the men like you make me kind of sick, becuase i can hear the misery, evilness, jealousy and bitterness youv had in your life... and still prevails.

  • just a tip, those cups are almost certainly PS (polystyrene, recycle #6 PS) and that is why they dissolve so quickly .. get highball cups (recycle #1 PETE polyethylene) and you can take your time (days, the resin can sit in the cups) and not worry about a huge mess of melting cups.
