The speaker failed to answer the question: Why were they reinforcing Fort King?
The answer should have been to enforce the Indian removal. The soldiers were coming there to drive the Seminoles south out of the Withlacoochee and down to Tampa.

I am not sure who the speaker is, but he is misinformed on a number of things.
1. The Seminoles were armed with percussion rifles. They got 2,200 of these in the Treaty of Paynes Landing. They fire better in the rain of that morning.
2. There's no historical proof that Osceola ever stabbed any treaty. No documentation to back it up that it ever happened. Good story, but it is folklore that appeared after he died.
3. You can't button a musket under a greatcoat. I would love to see someone try.
yeah unbelieveable
