An introduction to The Delmas Project, a nonprofit who mission is to fund and conduct projects in the Haitian slum in Delmas 33.
Our vision for Haiti is one of hope. It is a hope that children are not condemned to follow in the footsteps of the generation of their parents. We envision a Haiti in which the children do not go home to a ragged tent on the rubble of a destroyed city, nor do they wake in the mornings wondering whether or not they will eat that day. In our vision for Haiti, the children go to a school that teaches them the skills necessary to rebuild their cities from the ground up, and they do so without worrying for their safety or health. In our dream for Haiti, the children are free to be children again. They're free to play and grow in clean communities free from child prostitution, malnutrition, and disease. In our vision of Haiti, the children are taught how to build something better than the world that has been given to them.
