Interesting to find out there are some very big hitters in the business world that are behind the health reform, including such BIG BOYS as Wal-Mart, Aetna Insurance, Kaiser Health, Shell Oil, and others. Links below.

  • The Insurance companies seem to be the only ones bitching about this single payer, most corporations would love not having to pay for their employees healthcare insurance. It makes them more competitive by lowering their expenses.

  • Leppy111, thanks for the sub and your right the insurance co don't like the single payer idea because we wouldn't need their insurance policies. Our tax dollars would pay for any medical needs we might have. But because medical cost is one sixth of our economy, a whole lot of people don't like the idea of the gov controlling that one sixth.

  • Socialist utopia?Healt care is a socialist utopia?Health care is a basic human right, available to everyone, your Doctor's function to see you the patient receives the best regardless of cost.On that basis the biggest problem America will have will be limiting immigration,or people from across the world accessing the system without payment.

  • Good point.

  • Health care is not a right . you have a lot of rights in the USA. health care is not one of them.

if i get sick i do not have a right to rob my neighbor and take the fruits of his labor and make myself better.

  • Insurance policies work that way. A group of people pay into the company. When you get sick, that pool of money is used to pay the bill. The majority of American's can't afford to self insure, that's why we carry insurance.

  • Thanks, Boomer, now I know who to boycott.

I like how that thunder kicked in at the end...pretty ominous just like HR 3200.

  • The diffence between the insurance company and the government is I choose to take out my check book and send them my money. The government will steal it out of my paycheck before I get it the cost will go up and they will just take more and more and I cant stop it.

  • "Corporatocracy or Corpocracy is a form of government where a corporation, a group of corporations, or government entities with private components, control the direction and governance of a country." This is our form of government. Certainly not a socialist utopia.

  • I didn't feel it necessary to look up each and every reference to previous laws referenced in this bill, to understand it, as a common citizen. If it's your intent to discourage people from reading the bill, this might work. But like I said in the video, it doesn't matter now.
