  • A stage play is a great idea. Great care would have to be taken in casting Kane, Cutshaw & Fell.

  • A stage play has already taken place in California. Check theninthconfiguration[dot]com previous updates for details.

  • It should be Hudson Kane

  • I chose to use his real name.

  • This was Blatty's masterpiece. Bombed, deserved so much better. One of my top ten of all time.

  • I love this movie and this is a worthy tribute to it. All the emotion of the move is incapsulated in this. Well done. Very well done.

  • @HeyRadialMoon There's a saying in film circles: "No one in Hollywood asks 'Have you seen The Ninth Configuration? They ask 'How many times have you seen The Ninth Configuration?'"

  • A bit off topic of the movie, the Catholic church is a "rebellion" of sorts from the original churches of Christ, most notably the Orthodox Church and smaller churches all descended from the original Apostles. The Catholic church can only claim two Apostles of Christ, while the original church called the Orthodox Church has lineage to all the Apostles hence their title claim as The Apostolic Church of Christ. The Orthodox, Coptics etc all display the Crucifix, art as part of historical fact.

  • @Bearwolfex There was a rebellion of protesting Europeans who didn't want to follow what they considered an Italian led Church. One of their excuses to disobey the stewards of the Sacraments was to say that a Crucifix is considered idolatry because there's a human figure on it. This spirit of disobedience included all religious art works and scultures were accused of being false gods (statues of the Virgin Mary is another example). The Crucifix still remains as a reference to Catholicism.

  • @igloo54 Thank you for these good details...reload the Exorcist and The Ninth tonight.

Still don't understand the "Catholic" references. Catholic : Christian differences?

  • @ryandashsdotorg Mickey Rourke would make a great Col. Kane. He's admitted that if he weren't Catholic, "I would have blown my brains out."

Neal McDonough would make an excellent astronaut Capt. Billy Cutshaw being that he's been in both war films (Band of Brothers) and sci fi (Star Trek), and has had to make confrontational/controversial decission in real life about his acting career and morality.

  • @Bearwolfex I'm reading Blatty's "Exorcist". Don't know if you've seen it. The astronaut is suppose to be in it. When Regan interrupts the party and pees on the rug, she says, "You're gonna die up there," to the astronaut in "The 9th Configuration." It's one reason why he flips out before his mission launch and is in the mental institution. Likewise, recall the scene of the astronaut on the moon who finds a Crucifix (very Catholic).

  • @igloo54 I'm Christian, but don't recall any Catholic specific references. The movie could be remastered and couple of deleted scenes added as a Director's Cut. Just thinking aloud all.

  • The best depiction and story about P.T.S.D. and much more...thank you all for making this important movie and telling a story that is forever. Many thanks to ryandashsdotorg for this super edit and soundtrack.

  • The best movies I've ever seen. A masterpiece of story and film making...it never gets old. This was the originally intended sequel to the Exorcist; this being the redemptive side of our mortality and of out faith in fellow man and ...a higher force.

Thank you Mr Blatty, and Stacy Keach and everyone that contributed to this all times Great movie!
