i would love to fly a spitfire!

It's a sad sad thing that a great many of the world's most beautiful aircraft were World War 2 fighters whose job was to kill. You almost get a sense that the machines themselves were sad at the job they had to do.

Perhaps that's just me overpersonifying them, but I really think a lot of them seem to have that personality - the Spitfire in particular.

@ElClerko the 109 is not ugly the g6 is ugly but not the f2 f4 g2 and E7 are beautiful the F4 g2 and F2 are very sleek and good looking

@wowtank15 I believe there were 21 Australian pilots in the BoB, 14 died during the battle.

Probably the most beautiful aircraft ever produced. Only problem was that the elliptical wing was expensive and took longer to manufacture.
