The above is a short clip from an ultra-rare television broadcast depicting the Lions legendary 1957 championship season which first aired that same year. A DVD transfer from the original 16mm print can be purchased on our Ebay page at : http://myworld.ebay.com/grfilmfarm/?_trksid=p4340.l2559
Watching Bobby Lane lead the Lions through their last championship season is truly a thrill, and inspires hope that these 54 years latter, Matt Stafford, Ndamukong Suh and Megatron might just be able to achieve that same level of greatness.
Love those classic Lions jerseys. Instead of going with something new jersey-wise in 09, the Lions should of simply went backwards and took a page out of the team jerseys from the 50's when they were an NFL powerhouse.
At least they have made those throwback jerseys their official alternates.
There is something awesome about the simplicity of classic NFL jerseys. I think alot of modern uniforms are too "busy" and I'd like to see teams go back to classic looks like San Diego has done.

It always is good to hear the 49ers referred to as "the prospecters".

My God! The 1957 team is showing stuff the 2011 team could do! I love it!
