A tour of WNCN analog and DTV transmitters. The 3 cabinet Harris Sigma transmitter was turned off on June 9th, 2009 and has been sitting idle since the DTV transition. It began its' life as a channel 17 analog transmitter and was converted to channel 55 DTV in 2000.
The Thomson 4 tube IOT was split and half converted to digital on channel 17. We simply changed to the digital side at noon and converted the other half to digital as a backup transmitter.

I get digital stations out 57 miles from the adjacent town, with no problem! I am in the WNCN viewing area and get them at 22 miles, 100% signal! It's you and your crummy antenna. Yes digital is all or nothing.... You need a good antenna, end or story.
