The beautiful voice of Kenje Ogata singing Every Night When the Sun Goes Down, a traditional song. I don't know when it was recorded but it came out in June of 1985 on the Fast Folk Musical Magazine album Volume Two No. Six. Kenje is STILL a mystery to me but I am finding out more about her. I know she used to drive a car named "Doris" and she did all her own guitar playing. This song wasn't quite as hard to track down as Eagles, but only because I got it from the same source as Eagles. Her voice is as exquisite in this cut as it always is but now that I found out she did her own guitar accompaniment I am very impressed with the complex chord structure and how clean her playing was as well. Hope you enjoy this gem as much as I do.
Lyrics: Every Night When the Sun Goes Down
Traditional
Every night when the sun goes down
Every night when the sun goes down
Every night when the sun goes down
I hang my head and mournful cry
I wish to the Lord my train would come
Yeah I wish my train would come
I wish the Lord my train would come
And take me back where I come from
True love don't weep
True love don't mourn
Ooo ooo oo oo oo
Don't weep or mourn for me
I'm going down to the Marble town
I wish the Lord my babe was born
And sitting on his Daddy's knee
And me, poor girl, was dead and gone,
Green grass growing over me
Every night...
Every night...
When the sun goes down...
Who is Kenje Ogata!????? Im impressed with that voice
