I remember Pope Paul VI's coronation being broadcast over Telestar satelite in 1963. I watched it at my Grandmother's house, and all she had was a dinky black and white TV.
Pope John Paul the First got rid of the coronation procedure, not because he was a fanatical "up-dater" but because it was time for a less regal and more priestly ceremony, he thought.

I agree. After Vatican 2, essentially the Church put the sacred things in rubbish piles, the nuns took off their habits and stopped teaching, and many priests abandoned their vows. I remember the parish priest priest teaching us Hare Krishna and playing hideous folks songs in Mass. Most of the folks in my grade school class have left the Church. All this the bishops did in an attempt to guise their faithlessness with the mask of being "contemporary", "modern" or "with it." They had no faith.

No doubt about it, I really wish the pope could do this ceremony one more time, despite what the hypocrites might say because either way they would still ridicule the Pope.

Would you like to be be baptized into the Catholic Church?

I disagree. Even if Vatican II caused great changes, were they for the better? Statistically, the Church is in one of its worst crises in its history (everyone knows about the vocation crisis, the extent of the modernist heresy). I would say that while Bl. John had no idea of the extent to which the Council Fathers would reform the Church, his actions were disastrous.
Bl. John, ora pro nobis!

"TU ES PETRUS". Salve Sua Santidade, o Papa João XXIII.

Stop talking about cardinal Siri! He was in Genova and he was destined to be there. As a matter of fact, he was too conservative for the times. 1950s and 1960s was a time of huge changes. Siri would have never opened the Vatican Council II. Therefore, I say STOP! John XXIII - one of the best popes!

If only we had Cardinal Siri as pope.
Although I'm non-Catholic...I find all of this terribly interesting. The entire process of JP2's death to Benedict16's election captivated me completely. They should do at least 1 more papal coronation if for no other reason than to get it recorded properly and with today's technology.
