Fairlight - Legends Never DIE
Transcript from the Demo (Message from Fairlight Leadership):
Legends Never died after "Operation Fastlink".

HOWDY HACKERS !

DURING THE LONG YEARS, SINCE THE GROUP FAIRLIGHT ITS DUSK
WE HAVE SEEN LOTS OF THINGS PASS.

WE'VE CREATED A REPUTATION BY OUR ACTIVITIES ON C64, AMIGA, SUPER NINTENDO AND PC.

IT'S IN THE NEWS THAT "FAIRLIGHT IS DEAD AND 16 YEARS IS ENOUGH DUE TO THE DANGERS INVOLVED IN THE BUSINESS"

LET ME JUST POINT OUT A FEW THINGS: ONE OF THE MOTTOS OF FAIRLIGHT WAS "BUILT STRONGER TO LAST LONGER" AND THIS IS EVER MORE TRUE DAY THAN EVER, SO LET ME BE VERY CLEAR: WE ARE NOT DEAD!

HOLDER OF THE NAME IS THE COUNCIL TRIO STRIDER(FOUNDER), JBM (AMIGA AND PC), BACCHUS (COMMODORE 64).

THE GROUP FAIRLIGHT IS THEN MADE UP OF INDEPENDENT SECTIONS ON DIFFERENT PLATFORMS.

SOME PEOPLE KNOW EACH OTHERS ACROSS THE SECTION BORDERS, BUT THIS IS A LIMITED FEW.

NO MEMBER IS ENTITLED TO KILL THE GROUP, BUT THEIR SECTION MIGHT BE CLOSED.

THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH THE PC ISO SECTION RECENTLY, BUT THIS IS NOTHING NEW.

IT HAS HAPPENED WITH THE SNES SECTION ONCE AND ALSO THE PC SECTION ONCE BEFORE.

THE LATTER DUE TO THE BUST THE "NOT SO HUMBLE BABE", IN CASE ANYONE AROUND HAS A RECOLLECTION WHICH REACHES THAT FAR BACK.

THE GROUP IS STRONGER THAN THE SECTIONS. -- THE GROUP IS AN ORGANISM WITH MORE THAN ONE CELL.

IF A DEDICATED CRACKER LOOKED US UP AND WANTED TO CONTINUE WHERE THE LAST ISO LEFT, WE MIGHT CONSIDER THE OFFER TO WORK UNDER THE FAIRLIGHT BRAND.

FOR NOW OUR ACTIVITIES ARE LIMITED TO DEMOS ON THE PC AND C64, KINDLY SUPERVISED BY PANTALOON AND VODKA RESPECTIVELY.

SO WE ARE IN THE SOMEWHAT UNFAMILIAR POSITION OF NOT HAVING AND ACTIVE CRACKING SECTION, BUT IT'S A GIRLFRIEND IN A COMA -- NOT RIGOR MORTIS.

SO UNTIL YOU SEE A STATEMENT BY STRIDER, JBM OR BACCHUS DECLARING OUR DEATH, DON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ.

AND PERHAPS YOU SHOULDN'T ANYWAY, AS BOTH STRIDER AND MYSELF HAVE ENSURED THAT THERE IS A NEW GENERATION OF FAIRLIGHTERS READY TO TAKE OVER FROM THEIR FATHERS WHEN THAT DAY COMES.

REMEMBER THAT LEGENDS NEVER DIE!

BACCHUS -- FAIRLIGHT COUNCIL SPOKESPERSON

  • And even today Fairlight is still alive on the web!

  • Have been an FLT member way bak on the C64. Enjoyed working with Tron, Bacchus, Ogami, Strider and the others. It has been my best time way back, when 8 bit were enough!

  • c64 yo

  • @jointbuttz it rocks, much love for intro and tune. Instant remedy got a great remix to.

  • nice melody on this one...........

  • Legends never die, Fairlight never die!

  • Bullshit .

  • No commodore did, non understanding that they had to make the machine more modular to compete with the pc market (and also to make software houses produce morestuff for offices)

  • DEViANCE RULEZ

  • Yes they did, but then again; if people had bought the games after checking out the piratecopies the industry would, doubtless, have lasted longer, but the death of the Amiga was destined to happen. The real murder of the amiga was conducted by two persons namely Irving Gould and Mehdi Ali - and they will never get absolution for their actions (or LACK of actions).

  • "When dreams come true"... well my dream never came true; and that was to become a memeber of Fairlight. Guess it was my own fault for being born too late and being a modemtrader instead of a coder-wiz... anyway, they made a huge impact on my "teen-hood" which I wouldn't trade for any major release :)
