On Tuesday, March 8, at 9:00 am in the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, DC, the US Campaign - along with American Friends Service Committee and Interfaith Peace-Builders - held this briefing for congressional staff, the media and the public.

Members of a panel represented a sample of those most affected by U.S. policy toward Israel and the Palestinians. They told seldom-heard stories that raise critical questions about the effects of U.S. policies on three key issues: property rights, freedom of movement, and U.S. military aid in the region.

Speakers included:

Palestinian blogger and journalist from Gaza, Laila el Haddad, addressing freedom of movement for Palestinians in Gaza.

Former Israeli soldier and current peace advocate Elik Elhanan, a founding member of Combatants for Peace, addressing military aid and militarism within Israel.

The briefing was moderated by Helena Cobban, foreign policy analyst and publisher of Just World Books.
