Sadly this report never mentions a VRB or even that it is a flow battery comprised of two tanks of fluid electrolyte. Nothing technological was even mentioned in this video--wouldn't want to scare the viewers with that wacky science now, would we? More evidence of the downward spiral of ignorance our nation is in.

since you seem to understand this, i live in America of course, applications for this? house? house with solar panels could you recoup the cost and how many years would it take? electric car?

They Vanadium Redox battery sounds a great solution for a stand alone building.
Combined with a little wind turbine and a full PV solar roof you probably have enough energy forever..
But is the Vanadium Redox battery expensive ?
And where can you buy it?
It would be nice to have a home sized unit that could be charged during off peak hours and used during peak hours. No more running the dishwasher after midnight to save money on your electric bill.

Yes, this is possible. If you look on The University of New South Wales website, you will see they have built a Vanadium Redox battery that powers a Golf Cart. There was video of it running but I am having trouble locating it.
