VW Golf VI 118 TSI noise problems

Letter from VW Australia received on 02 Jul 09 as answer on my request to fix the problem until 20 Jun saying:

"A thorough investigation of your concerns has been completed. Testing undertaken during this time returned results consistent with manufacturer's specification. The test results, in addition to consultations with Volkswagen technical specialist, indicate the operation of your vehicle to be consistent with the design and operational characteristics of the Volkswagen Golf Version 6 model"

Hi,

as I pointed to somebody else... excluding that noise everything else is OK ... acceleration (8 Sec with DSG), fuel efficient, nice in and exterior, very quiet, nice to drive... plus it is estimated on one of the German forums that (only) 30% of twin charged engines is affected with that noise so if You are not unlucky You can even avoid that noise and have nice car ... anyway good luck

My '09 Golf GT car has the same problem (squeak sound). It's getting progressively worse, now that it's reaching 22K miles, and comes up almost every time I press the accelerator. It's VERY annoying!!

this has got nothing to do with the mechanics at a vw service sight. theres a test plan that has to be carried out which is given by vw germany and there is no fix for the sqeak as of yet...... so if u guys have any issues take it up with vw headoffice...

Now I think about I have a similar squeaking noise, I thought it was an engine dumperer, but now I guess it's not just my engine! Bloody VW, I have always been disappointed by them. The service is just rubbish, they also managed to smash the car in the workshop and they've never been able to paint it properly. They did the job tjree times and now I have half of the car that looks like Lightning of "CARS", it seems a toy.

My Golf 5 TSI 140CV has the same noise, but only when you push gas pedal at full and the engine is at 2000rpm. It sounds like there is some valve that is reacting to the request of power closing something.

Are you doing anything special to make that noise or is it generating by itself during normal driving conditions?

BTW, it's not Boost or BOVs or Turbo Whine or Supercharger whine!

It's the supercharger clutch engaging and disengaging. Noise was not there when new. Developed after 5000kms. So, VW stop feeding us bullshit and telling us the noise is normal. Wankers.

I have the same problem as well! VW are full of shit. Saying "It's Normal".

Fact is our cars are all suffering from massive depreciation due to this noise. NO ONE will buy a car that squeaks, on the second hand market. I am sick of complaining to VW. Never buying a VW again. If it's normal, why is VW constantly trying to come up with a NEW fix? Give me a break...
