This is a video I made for a school project to spread awareness in the population of teen runaways or youth in crisis that society has seemed to over look and forget. I was inspired to by the National Runaway Switchboard (NRS). The NRS is a nationwide volunteer organization and a confidential hotline (1-800-RUNAWAY) that have a goal to keep runaway and homeless youth safe and off the streets and help whoever needs it on the way.
For the video I interviewed students and teachers at Evanston Township High School in Evanston, IL to get the school perspective and to see what those in a high school had to say about the issue. I then Interviewed volunteers at NRS who work with the youth daily, wanting to get a more experienced perspective.
I hope you enjoy it and really take the time to think about what there teens go through and what you can do to help, even if its just to lend a listening ear.
If you have any questions please comment or contact the National Runaway Switchboard at 1-800-RUNAWAY.
p.s. It was too long for youtube, so please watch the second half! Thank you.
