On Friday, May 15th, 2009 the statue of General George S Patton Jr. was re-unveiled at West Point. From 1950 to 2005 Patton's statue stood by the Academy Library. It was removed temporarily in 2005 for the construction of the new library, Jefferson Hall. It was reinstalled now at the request of the graduating Class of 2009 who are graduating 100 years after General Patton. Present at the unveiling were two relatives, including a grandson, of General Patton. Patton now looks out over the Plain along with the statues of Eisenhower and MacArthur.
