The Urban Forest Project, a global public arts and environmental initiative, planted 100 street banners designed by local designers and students in the downtown Washington DC in May 2011. Each banner used the form of, or metaphor for, a tree to make powerful visual statements about the environment. Together they created a forest of thoughtful images in the heart of the nation's capitol to promote becoming a cleaner, greener and more sustainable city.

  • I loved the metaphor of the pencil- but don't feel bad about it- it is a resource you know- a tree without a forest is a lonely thought, but it is still a tree- and a single tree could be the mother of a whole new forest- thanks for sharing your design
