Two microwave ovens are tested for RF radiation in a TV station to observe interactions between the combined effects. A cell phone, humidifier and power line in a wall are also tested. You will see me in the video but I have a secret! The ball cap I am wearing and full body protective underwear block EMF to a degree. The ball cap is lined with metal threads and the underwear is 10% silver acting somewhat like a non-grounded faraday cage. The blocking effect is easily measurable.

Special thanks to Jeff Martin for camera operation!

  • The shielding inside a microwave oven would act as a Faraday cage. If you put the phone in the oven it should not ring until you open the door. If the oven has a very leaky seal the phone could be more likely to ring depending on oven orientation to the transmitting signal however I would not count on that.

  • Can cellphone calls be received by a cellphone in a microwave oven?

Would the shielding of the microwave oven act as a Faraday cage?
