I found it on the beach (Chiba, Japan) at the beginning June 2010.
Jellyfish? or Marine plant?
Is there anyone who knows what it is?

これなあに?

[PostScript, 28th Jun 2010]

I could know the name of it by papilionanthe.
According to papilionanthe, it's a dangerous creature of the sea which is called "Portuguese Man o' War ("Katsuonoeboshi" in Japanese)". Taking care not to touch tentacles of it if you found.
Thank you so much, papilionanthe!

This passage is taken from Wikipedia : The (Physalia physalis), also known as the bluebottle, man-of-war, or the Portuguese man of war, is a jelly-like, marine invertebrate of the family Physaliidae.

  • カツオノエボシというクラゲです。非常に毒が強く、触手にふれてしまうと危険なので、気をつけてください。

    刺されて死亡した例もあるとのことです。
