From what I understand the skype developers have already updated the Linux Skype Beta 2.0 version with the Eee PC package so you don't have to do all the commands. Just download the 2.0 Beta version

Are you using DemoRecorder to record your Screen? Because i am trying to get some vids up on how to use he Eee pc with Linux and stuff, however my DemoRecorder doesn't record the Right video files for me to upload... Any help?

Sorry, but what you did to install Skype was unnecessary complicated. All one needs to do is to accept to open the downloaded file with the default application. There's only need for the terminal to turn on the cam.

@cameronmeikle I essentially cheated. I used VNC'ed to the Eee on a Mac and used a screen recorder there. Sorry I can't be of help...

I apologize to the people commenting, there are now other, and better methods for enabling Skype on the Asus Eee, just haven't got around to recording another video...
