@crankyerma - Rich is not handling the non slide leads. U could not be more wrong.Luther is amazing at both lead & slide. Have you even seen the cabin fever dvd, lol, Luther is amazing and the greatest addition to the Crowes since Marc Ford. Luthers leads are fukin stellar. Have you even seen them live in the last 2 years> Also,Ford was a magician yes, buy to say rich is an amateur as well as Luter is flat out ignorant. IMO The Crowes are riding their most creative writing streak since TSH&MC.

Just a HUGE part of the Crowes.Plain and simple.But Luther Just be grateful we dealing with is doing pretty well.I never thought anyone could carry on after Ford.Just be happy we are not dealing with Audley Fread.(Sorry guy).

Marc Ford is one of the most underrated guitarists in rock for the last ~20 years (going back to Burning Tree). Thanks for the upload.

I've been listening to the bootlegs of the new Crowes tour. Luther is a very good slide player but apparently that's all he can do. Sounds like Rich is handling the non-slide leads and both are amateurs compared to Marc. The Crowes just don't have the same fire, bite or tastiness in their sound as when Marc was in the band. It's like when Mick Taylor left the Stones. They never really came close to be as a good live or in the studio as when he was in the band.

It's ll about sound and feeling. During the solo, he changes pickups, he adjust volume and tone controls, he changes from bottleneck to fingers, he thinks and he breaths....
It's incredible, a lot of ultrafast players should take a look at these guys.
