i'm not sure how or why, but this show is way better than iron chef america. its like there's more pride, honor, and respect on the line. this version has some real substance to it.

Also, I wish the dubbers hadn't spoiled it with inane comments like "I like both cooking and eating" and that comment about the prawn paste the challenger used in one of his dishes.

i searched on imdb.com that the american version is a 6.5/10 score where as the japanese version is 8.7/10

I know Chen Kenmin is proud of his son and his apprentice.

@TimFrith24 yes, his first name is Kenichi. In Japan and most Asian countries, the last name is said first so it can get kind of confusing.

@eugene680 I tried to make my own Prawns in Chilli Sauce- they were nice but wouldn't have been as good as Chen-san's. I did eat his Mapo Tofu at the Iron Chef event and it was fantastic
