Just a video for an entry on my blog about the musical inspirations in Sonic Games.
This video highlights connections between the Japanese duo Dreams Come True and several Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 tunes. It's not surprising as Dreams Come True's bassist Masato Nakamura was the sound composer for Sonic 1 and Sonic 2.

Sonic 2 Ending Theme - Sweet Sweet Sweet
There are other references like the music in Labyrinth Zone or Chemical Plant Zone but those are more subtle to catch.

Green Hill's theme is used for the song Marry Me which is sung in both English and Japanese just like Sweet Sweet Sweet/Sweet Dreams.

Wow. Very well done. I've always wondered if DCT ever did Labyrinth Zone, which has a great pop melody.
