i am from DC, southeast to be exact and it is refreshing and great to see people from other areas of the country appreciate one of our unique features in GoGo music. The problem is IMO is that people will not give it the time of day if they are not in this area especially since you only hear it in the DMV. but thank you people.

This Video just shows me that age has nothing to do with anything when it comes down to singing and performing music! Chuck is the Godfather to Go Go as James Brown was to soul. And did you know that he also plays classical music to, not to mention Jazz! I am from DC and trust and believe me he always had a packed house at the Masonic Temple on U St. NW !!!!!!!!!!!

My bud VJ from DC turned me on to this very funky groove and sold me on GoGo. Hey, I like the keyboards, not showboating but a solid groove and too cute to boot. Horns at 6 min are crazy, conguero is fantastic. Love it...go...go..

I lived in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the 1970s when Go Go music first started. but I didn't learn about that music until I visited friends in D.C/Maryland area in the late 1990s.it's weird how that music isn't well known outside the D.C. area but it's so influential. I featured this video of the founder of Washington D.C.'s and a video of the go go dance group Rare Essence on my latest pancocojams blog post "Washington, D.C.'s Go Go Music ".
