I doubt that you have understood the text. I am from Germany and I am in the German A-level cours. We analysed the song. And you have to see the figurative sense. It's about a boy picking a flower. Right. But: The boy wants to possess the flower because it's so beautiful. He does not listen to the flower who doesn't want to be picked. He takes it for his own satisfaction. That's it. And that's why you can interpret it like I did. And not just me. Other people thought it too. So, who's the idiot?

You have a beautiful voice!!! Your vibratto and tessitura are wonderful. You have a lot of color in your voice. Do you consider yourself a lyric soprano? What college are you attending?

Wow! Where did you end up going to school? Any place would be lucky to have you. Very impressive!

Ahh, yikes, I meant Goethe! ^^; What an embarrassing mistake. I'm reading something right now that alludes to both this poem and several works of Hesse, which I guess explains my mixup. I'm still going to stand by my assertion that I know what I'm talking about.

Hesse had nothing to do with this poem.

THat was really good! Which college did you want to get into? And did you get in? I'm applying for Roosevelt University next year and I might do this for the audition as well.
