Arrested, booked and sent to jail, that was the fate of the nearly 52 party-goers after the Cedar Fest ruckus quickly became a riot.

"Some big guy just came up and tackled me put me in zip tie things a brings me to the station and books me," said Kurt Ryder a Michigan State University student.

Police say nearly 95 percent of Michigan State University students didn't attend the fest but those who did could face charges including disorderly conduct and inciting a riot, and police say there are more arrests to be made.

"It is our intention within the next few weeks to review our videotape, and we had videotape rolling, to identify additional offenders," said East Lansing Police Chief Tom Wibert.

Police say even students and others who made suspicious posts on the social networking website, Facebook, could face punishment.

"We also intend to review the website posts and consider charges against the website originator and others who incited this riot," Wibert said.

East Lansing Police say state statute authorizes the long-term suspension of students convicted of a misdemeanor or felony, and they intend to do so.

"As many trouble-makers from last night as we can are going to be convicted, and they're not going to be here next year," Wibert said.

One thing's for sure, the party is over.

"As far as I'm concerned Cedar Fest is over and we're not going to allow it to happen again," Wibert said.

A school tradition that ended in tear gas, now party of the past.

@umannarbor2 this wasn't because of any sports game I was there. Cedar fest has nothing to do with any game they use to do this block party every year and this is when the had it again after not doing for a long period of time. But the cops 100% prevoked us into rioting they showed up in riot gear before it even got out of control what do you thinks going to happen showing up in riot gear with 3,000+ drunk kids lol.
